Coach Matt Taylor
Head Coach & Owner
Coach Matt founded Taylor'd Athletics with a simple mission: help youth find the fun in the work, as athletes and as people of faith and character. Known for his ability to connect with kids of all ages, he coaches baseball fundamentals while building the mental toughness and self-confidence that translate far beyond the field. Parents consistently note the life skills their kids develop alongside their game.
Coach Blake Mayo

Coach Blake has a gift for breaking down complex pitching mechanics into steps any young athlete can understand and execute. His ability to connect with kids, build confidence, and keep practices fun without sacrificing focus has made him a favorite among youth pitchers. Coach Chad's attention to detail on swing path, timing, and footwork is widely regarded as elite. He approaches every lesson with clear purpose, always grounded in the pure fundamentals of the game. Athletes from youth leagues through high school have credited Coach Chad with transforming not just their mechanics, but the confidence they carry to the plate.
Coach Chris Peacock
Pitching Coach
Chris played varsity baseball all four years at Daphne High School before continuing at Faulkner State and the University of Mobile. He went on to pitch five professional seasons, earning championships and individual recognition in independent leagues and spending time with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. His coaching focuses on proper mechanics, arm care, and velocity development, with an approach that stays simple and individualized for every athlete he works with.
Coach Jody Daniels
Baseball Coach
Coach Daniels is a Davidson High School alumnus and Hall of Fame inductee who earned All-Conference honors at Faulkner State before signing to play Division I baseball at the University of South Alabama under legendary coach Eddie Stanky. His playing career included a runner-up finish at the Babe Ruth World Series and an MVP at the Dizzy Dean World Series. He later served three years as head baseball coach at Davidson before being inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2019.
Coach Michael Nix
Pitching Coach
Michael grew up in Auburn and earned a scholarship to play at Auburn University, where he led the SEC in saves and earned First Team All-SEC honors. The Atlanta Braves drafted him out of college, and he went on to a 16-year professional career spanning four MLB organizations and international leagues. After playing, he served as a pitching coach for a minor league organization. He brings that depth of experience to every session at Taylor'd Athletics, with a coaching philosophy grounded in faith, balance, and keeping the game fun.
